About

Founded in 1967, Brookdale Community College is located near the Jersey Shore in Lincroft, NJ, and is situated on a former horse farm which is now a stunning 225 acre campus. Brookdale serves over 14,000 full and part-time students, offering associate's degrees and certificates in over 70 programs as well as noncredit classes in many areas of personal and professional interest. With outstanding academic, social, and professional opportunities, Brookdale is consistently ranked in the top 100 community colleges in the United States. Brookdale graduates have gone on to pursue bachelor's degrees at many of the top universities in the state.

In addition to the college's main campus, Brookdale operates one Branch Campus, and four Higher Education Centers which are strategically placed in the northern, eastern, western, and southern parts of Monmouth County. Brookdale also leads the NJ Coastal Communiversity which is an alliance of New Jersey higher education colleges and universities offering selected associate, bachelor's, master's degrees, and graduate certificates in Monmouth County.

Brookdale awards the Associates in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate of Fine Arts and Associate in Applied Science degrees. In addition, the college awards a number of Certificates in such fields as computing, culinary arts, automotive, to name a few.

Student Demographics

Brookdale currently enrolls over 14,000 full and part time students, including 120 international students from over 45 countries. As an open admission and community college, Brookdale serves students of all ages as well as business professionals and community members of diverse backgrounds.

ESL Program and Support Services

The College offers credit courses in English as a Second Language. Courses are offered in three levels-elementary, intermediate and advanced. Students may also take up to three levels of oral skills classes.

The International Education Center provides comprehensive services and support to international students, co-sponsors a wide range of globally themed activities and events throughout the year and works closely with the International Student Association, one of the largest clubs on campus.

Student Housing Options

Most international students reside with family members in Monmouth County or in apartments in nearby towns. For applicants who do not have a local resident to provide room and board, Brookdale partners with IHPS homestay program for placement with an American family.

Cost of Attendance and Financial Assistance

Student Activities and Campus Life

The Office of Student Life & Activities at Brookdale provides vibrant social, service, and entertainment opportunities for students and the community through various orientations, lectures and programs by guest artists and authors, and tours and travel. Students can participate in over 40 on-campus clubs and organizations. In addition, there are a variety of recreational and intercollegiate athletic programs including soccer, cross-country baseball, basketball, lacrosse, and tennis. Other available student services include, Experiential Learning and Career Services, Academic and Personal Counseling, Health Services, Study Abroad Opportunities, and Services for Persons with Disabilities.

The 225-acre main campus in Lincroft today comprises 23 buildings including the recently renovated Bankier Library, a brand new Fitness Center, a 380-seat Performing Arts Center, an Advanced Technology Center with state-of-the art television and electronic music studios, 10 athletic fields, Brookdale public radio 90.5 The Night, the Children's Learning Center, the Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution, and Center for Holocaust, Human Rights and Genocide Education. The campus has over 60 computer labs with about 1,600 fully networked PCs running all today's mainstream applications and WIFI locations throughout our main campus, branch campus and high education centers.
